Story
How it all started
Let us introduce ourselves. A Moroccan woman born in Safi is hired by her uncle to work in his hotel for the tourist season. There she meets a Swiss advertising executive from Zürich who has temporarily transferred his office near Marrakech. They fall in love, get married, have two sons and decide to leave Zürich and get settled in the area of Essaouira where they start a new life. No more ad agency or hotel business, another adventure is awaiting them as they start the production of Argan oil.
It sounds like a fairy tale but this is the real life of Noah Youness (3 years old), Elias Kim (1 year old), Meriyem (36 years old) and Ulysses (42 years old). No more nice city cars but a well-needed four wheel drive to travel through the fields of the Argan region. The warm African scenery has replaced the cold waters of the lake Zürich. In 2003 the “third baby” of the Muellers is born. Zit Sidi Yassine Ltd. is created in collaboration with Amina, Meriyem’s sister. Today the company has become a great success story employing over 400 Moroccans.
